Darkest Hour - Love As A Weapon

“You’ve known the secret all along, never stayed where you belong.”

We are still digesting to this band however their new recent album “Human Romance” definitely rocks! Darkest Hour are fast becoming veterans and being quite confident refining all those classic elements in this album. For us, this is the most emotional and melodic Darkest Hour album to date!

Their new material shares in that aggression and pushes them beyond the unknown. We have to admit that they’ve definitely been ‘covered up’ by a lot of the newer bands and it’s unbelievable that the band have been around for nearly ten years! Guitarist and founding-member, Mike Schleibaum explains,

“This time around, the Darkest Hour songs were composed a bit differently than was the case in the past. Our vision was for it to be an ‘in your face’, no-frills aggressive assault. It was written during a very dark bleak time for the band and I think the record matches in both tone and character.”

Well from what we know, they’ve been a constant in the world of heavy music since we came of age. :)

Anyhoo, ‘Love As As Weapon’ sounds like double-bass kick to the face and of course mixed with shredding hot licks. Sophisticated solos expected for any metalcore songs. Darkest Hour has found their sweet spot though!
