We were too stunned and over-elated that we got to meet Placebo thus we sat at Popeyes without ordering, for a whole 20 mins doing nothing but going speechless or just babbling alot of nonsense. After that 20 mins we then realize we had to grab some food to eat before heading to school. Hilarious much.

Second video below!

Blog post dated 19th March 2010 reblogged from my wordpress.

Beware! Fan girl moment here! You have been warned!

You know, I have never been an ultimate fan of Placebo (please don’t screw me over cause of this) but Nas got me to like them bit by bit. And I grew to love them more and more when I saw them live in Singapore. When I first heard they were coming to Singapore, I listened to them more and I watched videos of them which made me fall in love with them even more.

As the day grew closer to their gig, the excitement was slowly kicking in. Let me digress S.L.O.W.L.Y. I wasn’t as excited for the event at first as I was for BNO 2010 cause I was so flooded with school work and other activities. I nearly forgot about it! And it so happens that it was raining on that very Thursday they were supposed to rock Fort Canning!

However, as soon as I made my way to Fort Canning I could feel myself getting all jittery. And when I finally took a step beyond those gates at the entrance, I felt this sudden rush of excitement. I swear I could not stand still. Had to keep moving around.

My friends and I found a nice spot directly in front of Mr. Molko though we were like 2-3 rows behind and we waited. Oh and you know, Steve Forrest walked across the field towards their dressing room but nobody actually ran up to him! Either we were all stunned or afraid we’d get pulled away before we even get near him. But omg so close!

Anyhows, some DJ was up onstage to entertain everyone while waiting for the band to begin and the crowd to fill up the venue. I wish he would have like at least introduced himself or something. I kinda like his beats. Traditional mix with contemporary. Awesome.

It was quite a long wait to 8pm. More like the time was going so slowly cause we were impatient hahas. But man when we finally saw the screen light up with the video of that Eclipse, everyone, girl or boy, men or women began screaming and continued screaming and…yeah SCREAMING!

When the band walked onstage and took their places, everyone roared in loud cheers with excitement. Man I was so stoked! I wish I could describe how they played every song in detail but I know I’m never gonna do justice to them.

You should be there to just witness how amazing Placebo is. They’re awesome live. And they played a full 2 hours set which was still not enough for all of us fans but man it was worth it to be there!

You should have seen the way Stefan Olsdal worked that guitar! I swear he was literally having sex with his guitar and man he does it with class and it just ooozes HOTNESS!

You should have seen Steve Forrest hitting those drums like they deserve a nice whacking! HAHA! He was so hot! He has a new hxc fan and it’s me((: Hehe. His drumming was rad. Dang it.

You should have seen Brian Molko teasing us with his cleavage and his voice was OMG….I really cannot describe it. Just so beautiful! He bothered to have conversations with us. I personally love it when he left his mic stand and stood closer to the edge of the stage looking upon us and just smiling. I swear that was like the most sincere smile I had ever seen anyone give onstage(k apart from Hayley Williams :p).

You should have seen the effort they put in to get the right guitar effects. They put a 110% into their performance and man it was the sincerest performance I have ever witnessed by any band. They bothered to move around the stage even though the stage was small. The emotions I felt during their performances were overwhelming I couldn’t help but tear up a lil at times and smile so widely like I never had.

That was one night I will never ever forget. It was so memorable. From their first song to the very last encore song, I felt like I have fulfilled one of my many dreams in life. I love them even more after that one night. Good sigh((:

Now that was just Thursday night. Friday noon was a whole different story.

My friends and I had already planned to camp at the airport from 9am in hopes of meeting them. Somehow we all woke up late but you know what, we still got lucky.

Nas and I first arrived at the airport around 12 plus and ended up exiting the train station to Terminal 3 instead o Terminal 2. I swear I thought we were walking towards T2 but you know when you’re excited and tired your mind gets lost. I honestly felt so faint I wanted to vomit. Sleeping late was a wrong move.

So anyways, we almost missed our skytrain but thanks to 3 banglas who ran after the train and I was honestly encouraged to run too after I saw them, we got on board and was on our to way to T1. I was actually really tired and I felt like I was about to lose hope in meeting them. I was ready to give up before we even started cause my head felt so heavy.

We exited the train and was making our way towards C24 or something? And omg I just remembered! Nas wanted to walk towards the left side and he already started off towards the left which was the area after checking in your luggage? Sorry I’m not too sure how to describe this. But anyways I somehow felt like we needed to walk on the right! So we did and like 5 metres away Nas said this “Eh this guy like their crew only” AND THEY HAD GUITARS AND ALL!

And I recognized one of their extra guitarist (so sorry I don’t know his name  ). Then we walked a few more steps and guess who I saw smoking outside T1! He has short black hair covered with a hat, eyes covered with shades and wearing a white tee!

I stood where I was for like 2 minutes (ok exaggeration) trying to figure out if it was Brian Molko cause I didn’t know he was that short! Then the white van that brought them there drove away right behind him and I walked a few more steps and saw this freaking tall and bald guy! OMG! I swear I trembled! I had to call Nadiah to hurry up cause she was still on the way! Then Fiona(keyboardist) came in looking a bit lost like a tourist. Haha so cute. She was so friendly. We talked about her stay in Singapore and the tours they have been to. Such a nice lady((:

Then of course we made our way to Brian. He looked kinda grumpy actually. Woke up on the wrong side of bed? I don’t know hahas. But at least he still agreed to a pic though he asked to make it quick. Tsk tsk. Wanted to go after Stefan but I swear his long legs eh made it harder for us to catch up with him! So we missed our chance to take pics with him but at least I gotta see him upclose((:

Then one of their crew guys or maybe even manager (god knows) told us that Steve was still on his way so we walked back to the entrance and just nice Steve was handling his luggages! I was squealing to myself. He’s so hot I cannot believe I was like THERE! AND OMG HE IS SO FRIENDLY AND NONCHALANT! He was actually really late. And I mean it. VERY LATE. But he was so nice to stop and take pictures with us. I just fell in love with him even more HAHAHA! We even managed to have a proper conversation with him. Damn.

And til then, my friend Nadiah was still nowhere around.

So he gave everyone hugs and rushed off and just nice ah Nadiah arrived. Nad was so cute and lost and hahahaha hard to describe. She didn’t even know where to go. I told her to run after Steve! And I followed her from behind and helped her to take pictures.

And she at least got to meet Brian too though no pictures. She’ll literally cry if she didn’t get to meet Brian! Right Nad? So we made our move towards the entrance for passport check and all. And only Steve was left behind so my friend Nad went to him for another hug and let me tell you he graciously gave her one. And he actually giggled! Lol so cute.

He waved all of us goodbye and that was when I felt kinda sad. We’re gonna miss them. I hope Steve was honest when he told us he discussed with his manager in the car about coming back here. I would love for it to happen((:

We were so happy and high. We actually stoned at Popeyes for like 20 minutes before we went to order our food. Lol! Today I went to class feeling worn out BUT smiling so widely like an idiot. I was too happy and I could not care less for everything around me that on a normal day, would have annoyed me like crazy((:

Oh and thank you to LAMC Productions and Midas Promotions for bringing Placebo to Singapore. Oh and thank you to those 3 banglas who motivated Nas and I to run for the skytrain LOL!

Paramore - Ignorance Live @ Singapore Indoor Stadium

#Paramore#Singapore Indoor Stadium#Ignorance#concert review#past singapore shows#concert reviews

Paramore Live in Singapore was an experience of a lifetime. Might not be a detailed post since the gig was over a year ago. I’ll try and remember every detail of it.

So I pretty much almost did not make it for this gig. I was totally broke due to the tremendous amount spent on school materials (That’s what design school does to you. You’re almost always broke). Oh and the free standing tickets were already sold out anyways.

Less than a week before the gig, my friend came up to me asking if I wanted to get a free standing ticket  from her. It turned out that one of her friend’s bf couldn’t make it or something so they needed to sell off the ticket. You cannot imagine how I was exploding all over inside out of excitement. But still there was the issue of “I AM BROKE”. My mum was in one of her good moods and she heard about this so she decided to pay 60% of the amount. My then bf ended up topping up the rest  and off I went to the gig :p

A day before the gig itself Fina and I decided to head to the airport to try our luck at actually meeting Paramore. We were joined up by Khai and Nad and my mum (she was interested to see how the situation was like hahahaha). Well to our disappointment, we did not even get to see them. We thought they probably already left so we went to grab dinner. But through twitter (how amazing technology is now), I got to find out that they arrived pretty late and if we had stayed longer, we probably could have met them. Fina and I felt like little kids who found out Santa Claus never existed on the day of Christmas.

Moving on to the day of the gig, well let’s just say it was a FREAKING HOT day. There was already quite a long queue when I arrived. Apparently some of them queued overnight. Crazy but I wish I were with them! I got separated from Fina and a few others cause I got there a lil later so they were a number of heads ahead of me. Another of Fina’s friend was somewhere way behind me in the queue. So I was practically alone there but made friends with 2 girls in front of me. They were younger than me and I think it was their first gig ever so imagine the excitement :D

God knows how long I was in that queue! Thank goodness we were all seated. Doors finally opened at around 7? Well Fina was waiting for me in the middle of the stadium floor and we waited for Ayu. The other girls were already squeezed in the front with the rest of the crowds. We joined the crowd and instantly got squashed as the crowd grew bigger and bigger. Oh and we saw Afiq somewhere in that mess hahaha.

The opening band, Monochrome came on and they were not that bad if only they weren’t trying too hard. It felt like they weren’t playing with their hearts. Anyways I had hoped that Tacit Aria would be the opening band but I heard from a friend that their “manager” didn’t respond to the calls (I think he was sleeping) so too bad for them huh. Anyways almost everyone boo-ed Monochrome throughout their set. I honestly felt bad for them. Not easy being an opening band that’s for sure. Embarrassing enough that Hayley actually tweeted for us to cheer them on since they were the band that we picked (Well no we didn’t pick them).

Ok so fast forward, FINALLY PARAMORE. I swear this time everyone just couldn’t contain themselves. People literally started screaming when they saw Hayley’s signature mic with the signature orange tape around it. Hahaha. Everyone started pushing and shoving I couldn’t even breathe being squashed like that.

Lights turned off and they kicked it off with the intro which was way rad. Hayley walked on stage, lights flashing, I FREAKING SEE THE BAND! OMG! Hayley jumping around, swinging her hair everywhere WHOA! They played Ignorance first and that was epic. Hayley is one small person who can really rock out. Amazing how she’s so tiny and still gives out that amount of energy.

Well the crowd was of course singing along but there was too much pushing. We literally had to depend on the people around us to remain balanced on our feet. It’s like we couldn’t control ourselves. The crowd leans to the left and you just had to lean together with them. You could just fall and not get up. It was crazy.

Oh and many of them really did fall. First it was a group to my right back that fell but the people around them managed to pull everyone up. Then it was the group right in front of me. The girl who was right at the bottom of the pile of people looked so helpless. It was madness that all l I remember was trying to stand my ground and not be pushed to the front or else we would all fall on them. Most of them probably already got stepped on. I could feel myself stepping on someone’s bag and shoes and so many other items. The guys in front of me were trying to pull everyone up but it was so hard with all the pushing going on from all sides. We eventually managed to get them all up on their feet and some of them had to be carried out of the crowd. I just hoped that noone actually died or anything. Well no hahah.

By the time Crush Crush Crush started playing (that was just their 2nd song) everyone were up on their feet again but it was still crazy. I remember looking up to Hayley while she was going “Crush crush crush” and thinking omg I AM being crushed. Oh the irony. My mind literally blanked for the rest of the time I was in that crowd so I don’t remember the whole setlist. All I remembered was singing along, tasting sweat around me, looking up at Hayley and my jaw dropped, jumping around like I’m mad (not like there was any space for that) and helping people who needed to get out of that crowd.

Even  I gave up like into the 5th song or something. It was nice to be right in front but damn I couldn’t even stop to take in a breather and actually ENJOY the band. So I called out to one of the guards cause I want out. So they lifted me out (I felt so protected then hahahahaha. It felt good actually lol) and my shoe kinda got stuck and fell off somewhere so I took my time to wear it while staring up to Hayley. I was a mere inches away from her :(

Well anyways I rejoined somewhere in the back and damn it was spacious. Found some guys we made friends with earlier that day and spent the remaining of the gig with them. It was AWESOME! I was going mad like alone half of the time. You know the people who were hanging around at the back, they were literally just standing! I don’t know if they even enjoyed the performance. I don’t get them. I don’t get how you don’t feel like moving to every beat of each song!

Anyways somehow my fav song from Paramore have always been “Let The Flames Begin” and I was one happy bitch when I heard it live. The guitar intro, the solos OMG amazing. I just love that song beyond LOVE! Hahaha is that even possible? Anyways too bad Josh wasn’t around for their Pacific Tour. Would have been great to see him on that stage.

Night went well, energy was present from the band, the crowd, everyone 100% throuhgout the night. And when they sang “The Only Exception”, that was such a beautiful scene. Just hearing everyone singing along. Even Hayley felt overwhelmed by it that she just took a step back from the mic, and just let the crowd sing. You could see from that smile of hers that she felt immensely proud, happy, touched, insert every wonderful emotion you could think of.

They ended their night with Decode (well supposedly) and it was not enough for everyone so of course they came back out with an encroe of Misery Business and Brick By Boring Brick. You just HAVE to be at one of their shows to feel how all of us felt that night. WOW.

Night ended and it felt so fast. Most of us ended up hanging out at the back of the stadium. Security guards tried to fool us by saying that the white van that just left were not Paramore. I swear I thought I saw Hayley in that van alright. Then 10 mins later the guards told us that they have left. So much for “Oh that was not them in the van” -.-

So my friends and I hopped in the car and went over to Mandarin Oriental. Well we had our sources so we waited and waited but of course they’ve already gone up to their rooms and decided not to come out again. We still waited though and we were about to give up but a group of guys came out of the hotel. They looked like crew members but we weren’t too sure but some of us saw Jeremy sneakily hiding behind some of those guys hahaha.

Of course he didn’t run away so we took one big group photo with him. He signed the back of my shirt too cause that was all I had. Heheh. We were sure that the rest won’t be coming down so we called it a night. Most of us had school or work the next day anyways.

What a night aye ((:

And so much for a “not so detailed post” -.-
